Hey, thanks for the Daily Deviation! I hope that everyone enjoys the game. Also, I wanted to say that I don't go on dA a ton because I'm busy with my webcomic (which also features a game) that you can check out here: [link]
It's a game of Snake about Longcat. Obviously it's not very innovative or anything, but I think it's fun to play.
I made this a while ago but I hadn't posted it here. The hardest part was making Longcat's body turn corners. I haven't seen any other Snake games that do it like this. (Most have each body segment separate.)
My goal is to one day make really awesome Flash games, but my biggest problem is that I have no idea how to design innovative gameplay. I guess the solution to that is to play a lot more games!
Oh, the book I used to teach myself Flash is Foundation Game Design with Flash [link]
. I highly recommend it if you're a beginner. If you know a lot about programming already you might find the tone condescending (though I didn't mind.)
At some point I will fix some bugs in this (you can come back to life by opening the menu after you die, Long Cat sometimes faces a weird way when you hit a carrot, and also that I shouldn't allow the carrots in the spaces near the corners) and add a link to my dA or a personal website that I have yet to set up, and then I'll also put it on Newgrounds and submit it to Lolcats and stuff. Yeah, sometime soon...
